Kyoto Imperial Palace

Kyoto is the former capital of Japan and it is famous for its Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, gardens, and palaces. It is home to 1.5 million people, and is a popular tourist attraction.

I toured various shrines and palaces in Kyoto, but my favourite was definitely Kyoto Imperial Palace. The Palace was where the Imperial Family resided until 1868, when the capital of Japan was changed from Kyoto to Tokyo.

The building below is the Kinkaku-ji, or the Golden Pavilion.
